There is a slightly cooler feeling to the air (especially during the morning feedings) which brings such hope and excitement to my world. Are you looking forward to cooler weather? Do you have plans to ride a lot more and enjoy being outside again?
Recently, I had the opportunity to remember what it is like to fall off young horses. Thank goodness I am safe and only slightly bruised. These falls gave me such a beautiful reminder. I don’t HAVE to do EVERYTHING. I am much more adept at bringing along horses that have had the basics already “installed”(ie those ready for “middle school-college”). Now that I am ready to get back on, I will find those who are experts at installing the basics (and already have three numbers to call this weekend!) 🙂
Is there something in your life that would serve you better to give to someone else? How can you delegate with ease? It can be wonderful to challenge yourself with tuning into what you do in your life and really decide if you HAVE to do something or…maybe not??
Happy “Get Back On”…
One of my favorite quotes:
“You may have a fresh start any moment you choose, for this thing that we call “failure” is not the falling down, but the staying down.”
– Mary Pickford (America’s Sweetheart) 🙂
So I continue to ride and of course, breathe, believe, and balance myself all the while. It’s always such a wonderful feeling to think that the horse you are riding is sharing with you the notion of freedom. To feel what it is like to be them.
Start slow, be patient.
Some extra tips for horses and LIFE:
- Move slowly and your horse will know where you are
- Ask your horse for less, he will give you more
- Bring a little snack and he will know you care
- Breathe deeply and give hugs freely
- Love like you mean it and your horse will feel it in your heart
